Let’s Say Thanks…

Monday, November 30th, 2009

Please send our troops a thank you note! Its free and it only takes a minute. Whether you support the war in Iraq or not, there are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters in our military who are serving our country with courage and commitment to freedom. Go to www.letssaythanks.com where you can pick out a thank you card and The Xerox Company will print it and send it to a soldier who is currently serving in Iraq. You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! If you forget the website, know that Temco Air’s website has the info under the Community Involvement section. Happy Holidays!

Saving Trees and Spreading Cheer, With Green Holiday Greetings Again This Year!

Temco Air’s  “less waste, more impact” tradition continues this holiday season. In lieu of sending holiday cards to 1500+ of our friends, clients, and family, we “adopt a family” and apply our holiday card budget to fulfilling the wishes of our adopted family. We remind friends, clients, and family that we are thankful for them, and that they won’t be receiving holiday cards from Temco because we have “adopted a family” on their behalf.

We receive our adopted family’s wish list from Our Family Services and we go to work trying to fill the wishes and more. We give Temco clients, friends, and families the opportunity to help and have been so touched by the response every year.

This year we have a mom and dad with 3 boys. We already have clothing pretty well covered, except for needing a few baby boy items for size 3/6/9 months. The items on the parents’ wish list that have not already been handled are a set of dishes, silverware, and bath towels. We still need some toys/books for a 2 year old and a 3 year old. If you would like to help, call Cathy or April at Temco Air (520) 622-2909.

This tradition means we are less wasteful (no cards are purchased, no paper wasted, no money wasted on postage), and it is more meaningful for us all to be able to provide for a family that otherwise would not have much of a holiday celebration.

If you want to “adopt” a family, or an elderly person who is alone this holiday season, you may contact:

Is Your Family Safe?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

With symptoms such as headache, fatigue, nausea, dizziness… you think your family has the flu, right? Unfortunately many people with carbon monoxide poisoning mistake their symptoms for the flu.

The National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) reports: Carbon monoxide is a colorless, odorless gas that is extremely poisonous and can kill within minutes. In the US each year, nearly 500 die while as many as 20,000 visit emergency rooms for exposure primarily from poorly-maintained heating systems or gas stoves and gas-powered generators used for heat or power during storms.
