BooBoo Here...

I received this bit of humor in my fan mail (thank you Mike Z.) and thought you all might need a laugh...

How many dogs does it take to change a light bulb?

Golden Retriever: The sun is shining, the day is young, we've got our whole lives ahead of us, and you're inside worrying about a stupid burned out bulb?
Border Collie: Just one. And then I'll replace any wiring that's not up to code.
Lab: Oh, me, me!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeze let me change the light bulb! Can I? Can I? Huh? Huh? Huh? Can I? Pleeeeeeeeeze, please, please, please!
German Shepherd: I'll change it as soon as I've led these people from the dark, check to make sure I haven't missed any, and make just one more perimeter patrol to see that no one has tried to take advantage of the situation.
Old English Sheep Dog: Light bulb? I'm sorry, but I don't see a light bulb!
Rescued Dog:
I was so busy counting my blessings I didn't notice the light was out!
Heck, I've seen a lot worse than just momentary darkness!

Chihuahua : Yo quiero Taco Bulb. Or 'We don't need no stinking light bulb.'
Greyhound: It isn't moving. Who cares?

Poodle: I'll just blow in the Border Collie's ear and he'll do it.. By the time he finishes rewiring the house, my nails will be dry.

Remember... bark less, wag  more...

       Love, BooBoo

A  physics teacher in high school, once told the students that while one grasshopper on the railroad tracks wouldn't slow a train very much, a billion of them would.

In   our current  economic situation, every little thing we buy or do affects someone else - possibly even their job. Our challenge to you is to start reading the labels when you shop for  everyday things and purchase items that are made in the USA. Support our country's manufacturers, which in turn supports us all.
An easy example: Colgate toothpaste is made in    Mexico. Crest is made in the USA. GE lightbulbs are made in Mexico, however many generic everyday value bulbs are made in our country. And they are often less expensive, so how sweet is that? Your favorite Hershey's candy could be made in Mexico, not in Hershey, Pennsylvania! Who would have guessed? Safeway's brand of dish liquid, Softsoap hand soap, Green Works cleaning products... all made in the USA. It may not seem like a big impact when you are purchasing dish soap, but if MILLIONS of us purchased only "Made in USA" products, the impact could be huge.

 Just Imagine
A Campaign for a Better Tucson
The Imagine Campaign is designed to accomplish two main goals in our community. Both goals focus on building on a sense of community and volunteerism while promoting what is right with Tucson. The first goal of the Imagine Campaign is to increase the flying of American flags throughout Tucson. We hope that flags fly, not just during the holidays but, rather all year long. This would start with a primary push to have flags up starting with the Memorial Day Holiday and extending into Flag Day and the 4th of July Holidays and again, to keep these flags up all year.
For more information on this local program, click here,,,
This grassroots program is still hot off the presses, more details will be provided in the next few months.  The website is still under construction, but the momentum is rolling forward nonetheless. Display your flags, and stay tuned for more information on this Campaign for a better Tucson.

Philanthropy month at
 Tucson's Pastiche returns

It's back: Philanthropy With Phlavor began Tuesday and will continue through June. Five percent of your bill at Pastiche Modern Eatery, 3025 N. Campbell Ave., will go to your choice of one of 40 charities. Pastiche holds Philanthropy With Phlavor every June and October (this is the 22nd time), and nearly $60,000 has been donated over the years. Owner Pat Connors said the aim is "to find out what charities are important to our customers and to solidify our relationship with the community."
