Question:

What determines the SIZE of air conditioner I need?  1 Ton? 2 Ton?

Answer:

When Arizona temperatures soar, choosing the right size cooling unit will help you keep your living space cool economically and efficiently. Studies show that over half of home heat pumps and air conditioners are oversized - often 60 to 80 percent larger than they need to be!  Although a larger cooling unit may seem like a good idea, oversized cooling units cost more to buy and operate and actually don't do as good a job of keeping you comfortable year-round as a properly sized unit.

Question:

Why Do I Need Preventive Maintenance Tune-ups On My Air Conditioning and Heating System?

Answer:

First, let me answer your question with a question…

Would you buy a new car
and never bother to change the oil?

Of course not! You want to protect your investment and you know regular maintenance will not only extend the life of your car, it will ensure you get the best gas mileage possible.

Your air conditioning system requires routine maintenance for the exact same reasons; protecting your investment, extending the lifespan of your equipment, and ensuring

THE LOWEST POSSIBLE ENERGY BILLS!

Research continues to show routine maintenance on heating and cooling equipment ensures system efficiency (lowest energy bills), and prolongs the life of the equipment. But don’t take our word for it. Here are just a few of the most recent studies as reported in “Contracting Business” magazine:

“Studies found that an air conditioning tune-up saved an average of $32.76/month in air conditioning costs while increasing the capacity of the system. The study was repeated a year later on the same homes to find out if tune-ups were actually needed every year. The savings the second year was $24/month in air conditioning cost.”

 - Gulf States Power & Louisiana Engineering Extension

“As little as 0.042 inches of dirt on an air conditioning coil can reduce its efficiency by 21%.”

- EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)

”The pressure drop across an indoor coil doubles in four to seven years without proper maintenance, resulting in an 82% degradation of performance.”

- Honeywell

Question:

Do I really need routine maintenance on my heating and cooling equipment?  Why can't I just wait until my equipment fails before I call for service?

Answer:

Your heating and cooling equipment is a major financial investment.  Protect that investment!  You already know from experience that preventive maintenance on your vehicle extends the life of your car, as well as ensures you get the best gas mileage.  This is also true of your heating and cooling equipment.  Temco recommends 2 service visits per year to ensure your equipment runs as efficiently (lowest energy cost) and effectively (highest comfort level) as possible.  Not only will the pre-season service visits extend the life of your equipment, our expert technicians can often spot and correct a potentially serious problem BEFORE it turns into a costly repair.  We offer a Comfort Club Residential Maintenance Plan that takes the worry our of service and save you money.  If you would like to know more about heating and cooling service plans, just give us a call at (520) 622-2909 and we would be happy to explain further.
